Why we breed SD stock

The quality speaks for itself!

I have shared the link to some great video's to help share our passion for these amazing horses and help educate those who may not know the breed standard. What is the breed standard? That is a big debate no matter where you are in the world, but we have no doubts that Steve Down is the best breeder in the world, and have been blessed with some of his amazing stock.

Not all Gypsies are created equally. There is a standard like all breeds, but unfortunately, people get caught up in color or hair and don't focus on the complete package. Yes, hair is important, but conformation & bone comes before hair. Without proper conformation, your not gonna have a sound horse to do the job.

Why we register with GHRA

All of the Gypsy registries have their issues. We feel that the TGCA & GHRA are sticking with the values of the breed standard that it has been bred for by Romani culture. They are also easy to work with and don't require some of the hoops the GVHS requires which are not to better the breed standard. We do not get evaluations on our stock, being required to (by GVHS) register them is just silly considering the trained evaluators have not even been taught first hand the qualities that the Romani desire in their stock. The GVHS has backed certain "breeder(s)" as the "best" breeders in the U.S. which is completely unethical and was against the code of ethics till the GVHS changed the code of ethics to suite their agenda. That being said, we support the TGCA and the GHRA who put the betterment of the breed first.
